This Weeks Theme: Cat in the Hat!

This week is all about Theodor Seuss Geisel also known as Dr. Seuss and Theo LeSieg. He was a great American writer, poet, and cartoonist! He published 46 children's books and numerous adaptions of his work have been created including 11 television specials, four feature films, a broadway musical, and four television series! We have all read Dr. Seuss books and he was a man full of imagination, wit, and great character. He taught and still teaches us to think outside the box.

"You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself
any direction you choose.
You're on your own.
And you know what you know.
And YOU are the one who'll decide where to go.... " -Oh, The Places You'll Go!

The children may not fully understand the wisdom behind Mr. Geisel's words yet, but they enjoy and giggle at his play on words. His wonderful rhymes and colorful and vibrant pictures are enchanting and his stories are positive, fun, and filled with good morals.

The kids are enjoying the week of Dr. Seuss so far. We have been reading Dr. Seuss books and doing crafts from his stories!  They have enjoyed making tall white and red hats like the "Cat in the Hat's," plates of "Green Eggs and Ham," and making pictures with construction paper of  "One fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish".

Here are some pictures of the week so far::

Check out these cool cats : )
