Theme of the Week: Community Helpers!

We will be talking about what it means to be in a community and who makes up our community. We will also be talking about the kind of jobs that community helpers do and how they improve and benefit our very own community. We will also discuss the roles we play in our community and how we can help!

--If any parents want to come in and talk to the EP about their jobs and how they help in the community please contact one of the EP teachers and let us know so we can hopefully set up a date!

The Cold Weather is Here! :: Attention Parents!

** Please bring warm clothes! Hats are a must to keep their little heads and ears warm. It is brisk outside these days and the kids fingers are getting cold too, so please bring some gloves as well! If they just wear boots to school make sure you pack along a pair of slippers or another pair of shoes for them to wear inside. Soon we will need our snow pants but not just yet:)

* Also, please LABEL all of your kiddos things. It really helps us out, because sometimes they don't always know who's is who's and neither do we. Mabel's Labels are available! There is a huge variety of tags, iron-on tags, with customizing options! If you got to the website below and order, a percentage of the sale goes to The Children's Center! We appreciate the support:)

Theme of the Week: Harvest!

This week the EP is talking about what kind of things are being harvested this time of year. We are talking a lot about apples and pumpkins. Not only do we eat apples with our meals sometimes but we are making beautiful apple print pictures. Miss Bev went on a trip to Washington, and brought back some apples from the Apple Grove there. We are cutting the apples in half both vertically and horizontally to show the EP class what kind of prints the apples will leave when dipped in red and green paint!
We are also making some more marble paintings with white and black paint on orange paper for some spooky halloween art.

* If any parents have any ideas for art projects, or music for the EP class feel free to give your input!!

Its getting colder so make sure you send your child with appropriate attire. We try to take the EP outside when it is not pouring so raincoats are perfect for this weather! Soon it will be time to get out our snow pants and make some snow angels and some snow people! :)
