Theme of the Week: The Five Senses!
September 10-14
The Raccoons have started to take turns bringing home the Alphabet bag and the Star of the Week can. The Alphabet bag is taken home by the children and used for letter recognition. The letter of the week is the focus of the the Alphabet bag. This last week the letter was B. The child picked would fill the Alphabet bag with various items that started with B and bring it to school to share with the class during circle time! The star of the week can is taken home and inside are questionnaires that the kids can do with parents. Then the star of the week fills the can with pictures of family and themselves to share with the class. The star of the week poster stays up on the art closet door for the whole week.
This last week was all about the five senses. The children got to use all of their senses when they popped popcorn in an old fashioned popcorn maker last week. They got to touch, taste, smell, see, and hear the popcorn.
