*Summertime Fun*

This last week was "Fun with Science" and the previous week was "Fun with Art"! The early preschool class did some fun art projects with paint! They did blow paint projects using straws. They also made collages and used dot paints. This last week they did experiments with food coloring, water, and flowers/celery. They also  did a "dancing raisins" experiment using ginger ale! The early preschool also observed another experiment using a straw, a piece of yarn, and a balloon. They taped the balloon to the straw and watched how when the air was released from the balloon it helped to move the straw along the string! They had a lot of fun with these experiments this last week and hopefully you can do some at home as well!

We also had two days this last week where we played in the sprinkler and the kids loved it! They pretended to have a car wash and ran and played in the nice cool water. It was a nice and fun way to keep cool in the hot afternoon sun.

Hoping all the families and friends have a wonderful and relaxing weekend!

Summertime:)

We've missed a couple weeks of blog postings and I apologize! There have been so many changes and transitions and we are now beginning to get into a nice flow:) The sun is shining and the water table is out during recess now with a lot of fun water toys to play with. We play with the hose and get a nice mist going to keep us nice and cool! Sun block is a must these days with the weather so hot! It's a wonderful change to our rainy wet weather. Soon we will be wishing for the rain to return!

The past weeks the children have been discussing a variety of things! One week it was "Safety" another week was about "Fun with Food"!  The EP class discussed when you might need to use certain safety items and what you would use! Items such as: helmets, knee pads, life jackets, seat belts, sunblock, etc.

Fun with food was a treat for the kids! Literally! They got to try different types of fun foods like dried fruit, different types of fruit, and in different ways like on skewers! The children were also asked what their favorite foods were and we got a great variety of answers! From mac n cheese to pizza to chicken strips with ranch! The kids thoroughly enjoyed a great week of fun with food.

Happy belated 4th of July! I hope everyone had a great time with family and friends! Lots of great food, fun, and fireworks!!

Have a wonderful weekend!!
