Theme of the Week: Outer Space

The first week back the Racoon's didn't have a specific theme. They worked on reviewing name recognition, numbers, colors, shapes, and getting back into the swing of school after the holidays! This week the theme is "Outer Space"! The Raccoon's are learning all about the solar system! They have been chatting about the planets and the milky way! They have been discussing how we live on planet earth and where we are located in relation to the sun.

Art Project:

They glued multi-colored shapes onto a black piece of construction paper to make a rocket! Then they wrote each letter of their name in each box which made up the body of the rocket. They used glue and glitter to add some flair as well!

Circle:

Letter: Rr
Words: Ring, Rainbow, Radio, Rat, Robot, and Rose!
Rhyming Words: King and Ring
Color: White
Shape: Green Circle

Announcements:

Parents:

  • Please remember to label all clothing, blanket, shoes, etc.
  • Also, please remember to bring a pillow, blanket, and a cuddley friend (if desired) for your child to sleep with. We are not allowed to let the children use the pillows from our book area anymore so please remember so your child doesn't have to go without! (this is due to health codes).
  • We have a new friend in the classroom! Her name is Rosie! Rosie the Raccoon will be going home with a friend each week! There will be a bag to take her home in and a binder to fill with stories and drawings of what you did together! She is our special friend and we will all be working together to keep her safe and give her love.
**Hoping everyone has a wonderful rest of the week and weekend!!
