Last Weeks Theme: Under the Sea

** I apologize for the delay on last weeks post.

This last week the kiddos learned about the waters of our world. They made jelly fish out of coffee filters, died them with color, and tied strings to them. They also made seahorses out of paper plates! They sponge painted the seahorses and then sprinkled sand on the wet paint to add texture. These turned out great!!

The whole classroom was decorated as "Under the Sea". We read lots of stories and learned some interesting facts about the sea like:
  • That there is more water than there is land.
  • The Pacific Ocean is the biggest body of water followed by the Atlantic Ocean which is the second!
  • We also learned that there are many sea creatures that have yet to be discovered and that they live in various environments. Some live close to shore, some live very very deep in the ocean at depths hard to get to (unless in a submarine), some in warm waters, and in very cold waters.

Here are some pictures from this last week: )
